COMMUNICATIONS BASED TRAIN CONTROL

What exactly is Communications Based Train Control (CBTC)? Is CBTC just another signalling product, or is it something more? What are the parallels between CBTC and ERTMS? Where has CBTC been deployed, and why? What is the industry’s experience in migrating to CBTC? After more than two decades, what is the actual operating and maintenance experience with CBTC? These questions and more will be debated at this IRSE technical seminar.
The seminar will take a systems engineering view, looking at the complete CBTC project life-cycle from requirements through design and implementation to operations and maintenance. The seminar is structured to enable both signal engineers working in this field to hear of the latest developments in CBTC best practice, as well as those engineers and practitioners who want to understand more about this technology and the business case for CBTC.
